Becoming Master Volume Master – Instructions
- The active volume curve is drawn bold and without a handle. This curve shows the graphic relationship between the input control (horizontal) and the output indicator (vertical) which reflects the system’s current volume setting. Adjust the input control to change the system’s main volume with the assistance of an illustrated re-mapping.
- To select a volume curve click on the handle of an inactive curve or use the stepper control to change the power function’s exponent value.
- When the volume curve is changed, the system’s volume level will remain unchanged, while the input slider is updated to reflect its new position on the new curve.
- You can mute output using the switch on the Mute menu item.
- To quit VolCurv, select ‘Quit’ at the bottom of the VolCurv menu.
- VolCurv does not change the minimum or maximum volume level of a system.
Solutions – Help with Common Issues
- Why does VolCurv disappear when I change programs?
- MacOS may remove VolCurv from the menu bar to make space for other items. This can happen when you change to a program with more menus.
- Why do other menu bar icons disappear when VolCurv is launched?
- macOS will attempt to make room for VolCurv on the menu bar by hiding other icons under certain conditions.
- How do you change VolCurv settings?
- The active volume curve is selected by clicking on an inactive curve’s handle (dot) or by using the stepper control next to the exponent value.
- Mute is controlled using the Mute menu item’s switch.
- Will VolCurv slow my computer or other apps down?
- No. VolCurv is only active when it is showing and requires little memory or CPU resources.

- Select ‘Quit’ at the bottom of the VolCurv menu.

- To uninstall VolCurv, locate it in the Applications folder and drag it to the trash.
